History of Bolu Karacasu
The history of Bolu Karacasu Spa dates back to old times. It is known that it was used for both religious and health purposes in the Roman Empire. Also Evliya Çelebi spoke highly of this spa in his Seyahatname. This spa has been used since the 1st century A.C. According to historical documents, this spa, which had been constructed in the Roman period, was not renovated in the Byzantium period but revised in the Seljuk period. Then, between the years of 1450 and 1460 during the reign of Murat II, Bolu Flag Officer Kızıl Ahmet Paşa had the pools in the eastern section of the spa annexed and thus the spa took its main form.
